ugly and cruel
are the faces of evil,

may i , for simplicity's sake
burst this bubble
that took a while to make?


!#@$%*!- barely a whimper
reached an ear freedom at last
a silent woe exited

blasting thru
clad illusions,
hopefully beyond recall...

though tired and weary
there's no folly in binge spending
in the name of glory

for the spirit,
heart and mind
that truly belong to no-body!

Grandparents Remembered

Grandpa left
without prior notice
leaving unfinished the story
of great warriors chanting,
"Khali! Khali!"

years later Grandma followed
Grandpa too soon after
she declared,' no dark colors, nor knit brows
neither wailing on my wake-
play the guitar, be merry and enjoy the show."

there were singing between
sobs, foodfest galore and chain
smoking inside the parlor littered
with flowers sewn as wreaths
but Grandmas's Sampaguita adorns my hair.

in rememberance now is seen
Grandpa's smile,Grandma's wink in every face
parcing their loving tricks
making all children rather chic.

a view

did you recognize?
did you notice?
did you see?

accelerating
torrential
pivotal

movements
gushing from behind
rolling onwards

seemingly divided
separate
at once believed and the yet-unknown.

seen thus
taken as a burden
aspired to as a gift

it has a name
and is alive-
it is called

Intentionality-
Human History
always in the making.

conditions, amidst
strong currents

of fear,
of hope, and
distress-

dark, painful conditions
gaining impetus
preceeding an impending birth

HUMANITY- live!
repose, calmly when darkness looms

when light comes as it always does
look within, without, all about...

gather the pebbles of wisdom
ushered upon the shores...

receive the strength
from the ebb and flow of the ocean of life

of waters, wind
and fire from the womb of creation...

feel the kindness
that evolution assures-

by its laws of life, light
and the universe...

ever present in your abode-
the planet earth-

upon whose grounds, skies
and a myriad of elements abound

for Peace, Force and Joy
to nourish your being-

your becoming
HUMAN

Growth Beckons

when the sun sets in the west
and the skies grow dark;

when the sun rises in the east
and the earth bathes in light;

when the body, tires and becomes heavy
and hunger, thirst will one to tarry;

when the mind is restless
and its quest for freedom reigns;

when the heart feels troubled
and curls inward while in need of affection...

Life's eternal journey
towards meaning and fulfillment
is assured, paradoxically.

then, present & beyond

tending one's garden
within bears when its fruits feed
others, life and self
